If you can scrape any off, do. Apply full strength Dawn dish detergent. Let it sit. Then wash in hot water, laundry detergent, Oxiclean and an old towel that you don't mind staining. Do not put in the dryer until it is all out.
Hello Sandra,
Look in Laundry Isle of Supermarket for Stain Wizard for Grease or maybe Car Bits Isle. If that fails, maybe use Washing Up Liquid or Swarfaga used to get gunk off hands.............Good luck!
Cynthia H has the best answer in my opinion, full strength Dawn dish liquid is what I use as well and always works. Just make sure to let the dawn set overnight to make sure all the grease is removed, if not, try air drying and reapply Dawn again. Hope this works for you.
Remove any actual grease, scrape it off. Then apply liberally Blue Dawn dish soap and let it set at least an hour. Launder as usual in hot water and laundry detergent, I also let it set at least 15-30 min in the mixture in the washer. Wash all the greasy clothes together and put in a rag that you don't mind messing up. I also add a hydrogen based bleach (Awesome product) from the dollar store (same thing as Oxyclean only a lot cheaper) in the wash cycle.
Repeat if needed and do not dry these clothes in the dryer until the grease is removed.
I use GP66 degreaser to get grease off my husband's clothes. You can probably find another brand that works well.
