How can I remove hair dye stains from a porcelain-top vanity?
Granddaughter dyed hair black and ruined my brand new vanity top! I've tried bleach and nail polish remover. Nothing is working! Is it a complete losd!
Pour in a cup or so of bleach and let it sit for a couple of hours. Works great for me.
I use a few squirts of Dawn Dish liquid and 1/3 bottle of vinegar. Agitate to foam it up and let it sit for about an hour or two. The suds suspend the vinegar above the water line. Then just swish with a toilet brush.
I use CLR poured into the toliet til its above the ring line, let sit overnight if possible. Then I use Bar Keeper's Friend which is like Comet but has a form of bleach in itm and scrub. Some like to use a pumice stone made for cleaning toliet rings.
Hi, Mary!
A pumice stone can also be used with Dawn dishwashing liquid to remove the ring. I hope this helps!

I know it sounds weird but drain the toilet by turning off the water and flushing. Spray WD40 yes you read that right let it sit for a few minutes and clean with a green scrubby. Presto it's all gone. I didnt believe it either as I tried all of the above and nothing worked.
Get a product called Scouring Stick. It's pumice and is available at Walmart.
Lysol Lime & Rust Remover Toilet Bowl cleaner, comes in a black squirt bottle. Scrub with Scrub Daddy or Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. If stubborn, use a scouring stick to scrub.
Mary this is what I use to clean my entire bathroom:
Heat up 1 cup of white vinegar, mix in about 1/4 cup of Dawn Premium. Not the dollar store kind, because it is too thin. When mixed, pour into a spray bottle and fill with water. Shake. Spray down the grout and let it sit overnight. In the morning rinse. If you have stubborn stains, spray again. Use this mixture a few times a week. It will keep your grout and tiles clean. Also works wonders in the toilet bowl to keep hard water stains at bay. Oh you only have to heat the vinegar one time when you add the Dawn.
If the stain is really stubborn, put some Ajax or Comet in the bowl, spray with the mixture above, let sit overnight, rinse in the morning.
When my toilet needs cleaning, I pour a cup of bleach in the bowl and the same in the tank.(Just lift the tank cver off) Let sit overnight, flush in the morning. Works for me. And it smells good the next day. And stay away from pumice-it scratches! Also I hav read some decent bowlsparkle com reviews - their products seem to be good
Flush the toilet and then pour a quarter cup of Borax into it. Use your toilet brush to swish it around. Next, add one to two cups of vinegar and let the mixture sit for 30 minutes. You should be able to scrub the stains away!
