Remove as much as possible with a snake or drain cleaning tool. Pour ½ cup baking soda then ½ cup white vinegar in the drain and cover, letting sit for 20 minutes. Boil water, remove cover, and pour water down the drain. You may have to repeat the process.
Ok Thanks will do.
Hello. Most commonly we find that our drains need to be physically fished out. Either using an unbent hanger as a refashioned hook or plastic barbed tool from the dollar store to explore the drain obstruction.
This barbed plastic mechanical drain cleaner below is from the dollar tree.
Fishing out the blockage with that in -our experience— to partially involve hair seems to most readily alleviate stoppage in our bathroom sink and shower drains.
I use this tool on a periodic basis throughout the year to keep my sink and shower drains patent. I hope this helps.
Plunge. If that does not work try Green Gobbler. It soaks up water and pushes the clog along. It is eco friendly. Try the plunger first. Use it properly. Remove drain cap if you can. Get an air bubble inside the cone and try to force it thru the water line. Then do the same creating a suction PULLING the water towards the plunger. Do for several minutes as this may loosen the clog by pushing and pulling the water against the clog. If that doesn't work try the Green Gobbler. I have had good success with it.
Removing any hair with a plastic barbed drain tool to start. Plunger won't work unless there is water in the tub. The drain design in a tub is a "T". You would just be pushing air. You need some water in the tub to push the clog through with a plunger. If that doesn't work then baking soda and vinegar may work.
Most of the time it's as simple as cleaning out your drain. Hair can accumulate and make it clog. My husband uses a small needle nose pliers.
Pull the drain off and reach in the pipe. Might be full of hair.
Baking soda and binegar
Take a long plastic drinking straw and notch it in several places. Lower it into the drain to catch hair on the notches. Remove and replace until the hair clogs are gone. Then pour drain cleaner in to dissolve other types of residue.
