Hi Susan, here is a way to clean your sterling silver jewelry. White vinegar and baking soda: Use this gentle cleaner to remove heavy tarnish that's preventing you from polishing your silver. Soak the tarnished piece in a solution of 1/2 cup white vinegar and 2 tbsp. baking soda (be prepared for the fizzing!) for two to three hours, then rinse and dry.Aug 19, 2013

SILVER JEWELRY - How to Clean Sterling Silver Jewelry |
Hello, It depends on the jewelry , sometimes I use the liquid Connoisseurs Jewelry cleaner with the basket/jar that allows immersion is in the soapy liquid using a small brush to clean out prongs and stones.
Otherwise I like the impregnated cloth to clean my sterling silver and I find that works wonderful too -to buff up bracelets and rings that oxidize and darken.
I've had success using white toothpaste to shine silver.
Hi ! You can find a polishing cloth in any craft stores jewelry making department . This is a soft cloth treated with a cleaner that will clean tarnish off jewelry !
I highly recommend this cloth. I bought one over 15 years ago and just replaced it this past month. You just rub the jewelry with the cloth and it turns out sparkling.
Rub the jewelry, then rinse in cool water and buff with a cloth until dry. For heavier tarnish, mix a paste of three parts baking soda to one part water. Wet the silver and apply the cleaner with a soft, lint-free cloth (not paper towels, which can scratch).
I use a jewelry cleaning cloth specifically for silver to clean.
I sell a lot of silver on Ebay. Jewelry, silverware, serving sets. Silver polish like Wrights and dips like TarnX tend to remove some of the metal. The foil method doesn't work that great and still leaves a grey film that still needs to be removed. I use white toothpaste (not gel) and a damp toothbrush. For large items I use a damp cloth. Also works on copper, brass, gold, porcelain, ceramics, sneakers, plastics, etc. For my sales I needed one product for cleaning everything.
