Can you help me choose colors for my kitchen?
Hi! We are having kitchen painted.. (professionally) (inside and out for cabinets)...and the walls./ trim. We have an A -framed ceiling. Trying to decide colors. I'm leaning toward an Alabaster on walls and cabinets/trim. Would you do paint ceiling same color? Too much white? Also thinking about staining/painting the beam brown to stand out? No more yellow though - Suggestions? Thank you !

Belinda: what a beautiful room -- and is on it's way to being stunning!
I think alabaster (or any neutral) would look great! If you want to introduce color, you can do it with accents or table linens.
You could also do two-tone... with like a light cottage blue on the bottom cabinets. (If you really want to be daring --- paint that beam the same blue!)
(If you went this route... get toile placemats/tablecloth in a darker blue -- on a white background. ...a designer look!)
Oh your kitchen is going, to look great. I agree with Nan, add your pops of colour with accessories. That way you can change up the look of the whole room without having to paint in a few years.
Wow ! Sounds awesome !!! I would use a soft white on the upper cabinets and a soft Wedgwood blue ( blue is in now ) or a soft sage on the bottom cabinets . Then I would paint 3 of the walls and the ceiling a soft white , as well . For the 4th wall , the one with a single door , next to the fridge , I would paint that wall in the same color as the lower cabins , as well as the door inset panel area , the rest of the door , and the frame , do in white . Then I would stain the beam the same color as your floor ! Have fun and enjoy your new kitchen !!!
Hey Belinda!
This room has GREAT bones and is going to be beautiful with a little paint! I love alabaster, it's such a soft white and I agree with using accessories to get that pop of color! I think for me it would be too much white to have the cabinets the same color as the walls and trim, that doesn't mean that it won't be beautiful, just a lot of white!
Maybe adding soft grays if you aren't opposed to them, I used soft grays such as SW Agreeable Gray and Dorian Gray to compliment the white without being dark at all!
I still love a wall painted with the light color and the trim painted white, but I have seen some designers like Jenna Sue use gray trim with white walls and it look really beautiful!
And I think that beam would be really pretty stained if it is actual wood and can be stained!
It will be gorgeous though however you end up painting it, I'm sure!
I personally like the paint color Swiss Coffee, but Alabaster is also a nice neutral. to paint the crown molding and beam, I would use a color 2 down on the paint sample chart. Just to give it some depth. I think the room is beautiful and I wouldn't go dark. But you really need some contrast, all white will be very glaring. The ceiling I would paint the second color on the paint chart, this way all will blend nicely. Go to Sherwin Williams or Benjamin Moore and look at your options.
Thank you all so much with the great ideas!!! Wow!! They are starting soon so I have to finalize my thoughts I've been all over the place.
There are a lot of good kitchen paint colors here: http://womanthinking.wuvely.ru/506425-kitchen-paint-colors-white-cabinets-27-best-ideas.html
That actually some awesome! All the colors that you will bring to your room will be accessories like window treatment , flowers , dishes etc
Maybe a slate gray with white trim.
What about alabaster. https://lifeonsummerhill.com/sherwin-williams-alabaster-white/
