Here are some good ideas. I like this one that functions as a bench. It's pretty close to the ground, but has a couple of shelves for your shoes: https://homeisd.com/diy-shoe-rack-ideas/

If you get a flat box and add dividers or a Rubbermaid under bed storage container then add cardboard dividers for your shoes
Behind the door organizers are great for shoes etc. Here's a pic of what I mean:
i would just use the hooks :)
You could use a large serving tray and slide it under the bed!
I can get two pairs of flats to fit in one Dollar Tree lidded clear shoe box. That 50¢ a pair.
Write on the boxes with a Sharpie or put masking tape on them & wrote on the tape. Colored Sharpies tell me more about what’s inside each box.
I used dollar tree boxes as Lifestyle homes said above. They have a lid to cover them so the shoes stay clean and dust free.
Hi Vicki,
Add extra shelves between bookcase to hold shoes or use hanging door fitment, or hang them on coat hooks on wall or use clothes pegs to fix them to a coat hanger (Bit like skirt hangers)............Good luck!
