Apply slip resistant mats to high traffic areas :-) or an area rug.
Hi Vicki, here is a video to guide you, I think you can mix up a rough texture paint and it will reduce the slipping on the cement.

Hi ! Years ago we used to add sand to our paint , to give it a rough texture ! Good luck !!!
You can add textured strips, similar to what truck drivers have on steps. They are self adhesive. I think others options are covered in above replies.

Before I put any new finish on it, including sanded paint, I would pry/sand/etch off the old paint or existing surface and then clean it with soap/vinegar/water to make the new surface bond.
Make your own paint anti slip. Pour some paint into a paint tray, then toss in a small handful of play sand, such as Quikrete Play Sand. Aim for a ratio of four parts paint for every one part sand. Stir well—and keep stirring each and every time you load fresh paint onto the tool you have chosen for the work, be it a brush or a roller.

Get that slip proof paint from the paint store, or add sand to some paint you have on hand. But the paint store pain has some nice choices, two tone which looks nice
