Do you mean a wood railing? If so https://familyhw.com/how-to-clean-wood-banister/
Or wrought iron? If that https://www.stairsupplies.com/resources/how-to/how-to-clean-wrought-iron-balusters-and-railing/
If it is made of wood...you can always clean wood or wood floors with BONA. If you have wrought iron or metal railing, use some warm water with dish soap.
If it's wood, use Murphy's Oil Soap.
Here's a post that might help - https://maidsbytrade.com/clean-staircase-railings/
Hello. Wood rails or metal?
I would suggest using a wood cleaning solution like Murphy’s oil soap and using a sock to wipe down the wooden rails or spindles.

Hi Perrin, it depends on what your railing is made of, but hopefully this tutorial should help - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aELCLJomDyk
If it is wood, use warm water. and Murphy's oil soap.
Thanks
If it’s wood and the handrail has lost its finish, that’s a different solution than Murphy’s Oil Soap.
If so, let us know.
Hi Perrin, for wood railing, Mix one cup of olive oil and one-half a cup of lemon juice together in a plastic spray bottle. Shake the mixture gently. Spray the lemon juice and olive oil onto one of your cleaning cloths and wipe the sticky, dirty area down. This will both clean and polish your railings.
For wrought iron, To clean wrought iron, wipe it down with warm soapy water. Then, rinse the wrought iron off with clean water to get rid of all of the soap. You can let the wrought iron air dry or dry it off with a clean cloth. If your wrought iron has rust on it, use a coarse wire brush or sandpaper to brush it off
Hello Perrin Pamela,
Use a damp cloth or maybe a Wet Wipe?
