I would suggest adding a pond liner to the inside of your cement pond. That would make sure your pond holds water, regardless of any cracks in the cement.
Since ground and soil move with temp changes the concrete heaves and shifts. This causes cracking. Should have used a neoprene rubber liner. Best solution now is line the pond with a rubber liner over the concrete. Any repairs to the concrete will just fail.
You can add a rubber liner to it. That's how my brother in law built theirs.
Thank you so much!!
I would get a pond liner to put inside of it.
Concrete is difficult because once cracks start appearing, they do tend to multiply, as you noted. I think the liner is your best bet, or re-pouring the concrete altogether, but that would be expensive.

Hi Hettie. I agree with above comments. The solution to your problem is to install a pond liner. You can purchase one on Amazon. I also found them at Home Depot's web site.

How big is the damage? Is it a crack?
Ive repaird so many things with the Oatey epoxy putty stick!
I find it easier to work with than bondo and this clay like putty can be sculpted. It does harden in a few minutes and will dry gray - may needing painting.
It's a two-part epoxy sticky-found at big box hardware stores for about $6.
You mix press -then you can use scrape off excess (I use depleted gift card) and/or sand and paint. Cured putty is strong enough to drill through. Its a light grey putty.
Oatey Putty safely seals/waterproofs for plumbing boat repairs.... Ive used it for exterior entry door frame wood rot repair, elliptical pedal repair, multiple arts and crafts repair of furniture, pottery- wood -ceramic- concrete statues - even a garage laundry sink with a hole ( thanks for hiding that defect with carrots -previous homeowner)
Every home owner crafter or second hand shopper need a 2 part putty epoxy stick!
You can find other expensive and smaller 2 part epoxy sticks versions in the boat marine and wood repair sections this Oatey one is a great value.
Consider the epoxy putty for your repair needs.
