I'm not sure you can make glass impossible to break. Polycarbonate is much more difficult to break, though.
Attach a layer of plexiglass over it, it is transparant and will not break unless bent or extreme circumstances.

If you run a piece of contact paper (they make transparent) it would hold on to the glass in case it did break. But even bullet proof (in the right situation) glass can break.
You could put it between 2 pieces of clear acrylic. If you decide to add anything to the glass though, be certain that it can withstand high heat. Don't gas lanterns work with a flame?

Hello Helen,
, If I was worried about possible panel of glass breaking for some reason
If I could afford it, I would have it changed for Safety Glass or cover both sides with
Clear Contact, to prevent it frame shattering if the worst happens..........Best wishes
Hello,
You don't say where it is , so I will guess it is a window of some kind. Use Plexiglass in front and behind it. Make sure you buy Exterior plexiglas or acrylic.
Yes, one of the kinds of Safety Glass is laminated glass (like car windshields).
That won’t keep it from breaking depending, if it gets “pushed too far”.
If it’s in a door or a window below 34” Above Finished Floor, it has to be either laminated or tempered, by Code.
