Hi Cindy, sure brass can be painted. I just did it recently with a lamp. Just remember if someone wants to come in and bring it back to brass, they could just strip it, sand it and steel wool it. The question is if you absolutely want to because it is so pretty in itself. Are the welding joints brass as well as the rods that make the sun burst pattern. Is the entire thing brass?...that is what I am asking, or are certain parts not brass? If there are different parts that aren't brass, that is when I would think about painting it. Rustoleum spray paint would be my choice. They have such beautiful paints for metal that go on like butter! What metal finish are you thinking about. silver, ......black stainless steel is a new finish I have found by rustoleum and its gorgeous!!! I like it better than their popular antique bronze. Natural highlights of silver in it. Good luck! Have fun with it.
Yes, they can. Just be sure to clean and prime them first.
You can spray a primer on it and use spray paint.
RustOleum spray paint should work great. I would clean it up first with denatured alcohol.
Clean the brass or metal with a rag and soapy water to remove any dirt. If the soapy water is not strong enough to clean the metal, use a glass cleaner that contains ammonia to clean it.
Spray-paint the metal object with a spray primer designed for use on metal surfaces. The directions on the primer must state that it will adhere to metal or shiny surfaces, or the primer will rub off soon after you finish painting.
Apply a second coat of primer to ensure that you've coated the entire surface of the object.
Paint the dry primed object with spray paint in your desired color. You do not need to use a special type of spray paint, because any paint will adhere to the primer.
Spray a clear acrylic sealer onto the brass or metal object when the paint is completely dry. This will help to protect the paint and prevent it from chipping.
After you clean them, I would take them outside and spray paint them!
It should work. Just use spray paint for metal
Clean well and be sure they are dry, then paint using Rustoleum or Krylon spray paint made especially for painting metal.
Use something like paint for outside metal.can find it online then go to local store and buy or order online.
Sure, they should be able to be painted. I'd use a spray primer for metal and a metal spray paint.
yep, just sand them to rough them up, then use a good quality paint made for metal.
