Pressure wash large area. ?
Hi. I have a large area of brick sized block paving that would come up lovely with a pressure wash as they haven’t been cleaned for years. However there isn’t anywhere for the dirty water to disappear to ie a drain. This job would produce a “lake” of dirty water sat on my newly cleaned blocks. Any tips ? Maybe clean a section at a time and not all at once over a few days ? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Gareth.

Southern Traditions: Why Did My Grandmas Sweep Their Yards?
My question as I watched these grandparents was always, "Why are you sweeping your yards, and why is there no grass around your house?" We have grass around ours.
I have a side walk that butts up against the house with the same problem. I found the cheapest way for me to deal with this is to use a large wish broom after power washing. It only takes about 15 minutes to get the excess water off. Sorry I don't have any fancy ideas that is just how I deal with that same problem. Good luck! :)
You can use the pressure washer at an angle to force the dirty water off the blocks. This would leave some clean water on the blocks that can be swept off.
I agree with Mogie. A large push broom may be your best bet.
Hi Gareth. Go ahead and pressure wash your patio. You could use a shop vac to transfer all that water back to a more convenient place. Once you have the majority of the water off, you could sweep the last bit of water to the edge. Good luck Gareth.
Hi Gareth, yes, I would clean it in sections on sunny warm day (if possible). I hope you have success cleaning your brick paving area. Stay well, and good luck with your project.
Hi there, You need to build yourself a soakaway!
Before beginning your project make sure all nearby plants are covered with plastic sheeting or tarps in order to protect them from any over-spray during your project. Another key factor when using a pressure washer is choosing the right setting on your machine as too high can cause damage if used incorrectly, while too low will not give you enough power for an effective job completion.
