How to hang a 5x4 ft fabric as a wall hanging?
Have a fabric piece from Ireland that I want to hang on a large open wall. Has embroidery along the sides that I don't want to cover. Can it be hung, like on a curtain rod, or put into a frame. Need decorating ideas. Maybe items hung on either side??

I would probably place it in some sort of frame (not sure how large your fabric piece is) just to protect it. Maybe add other decor items that reflect Ireland on each side. Hope this helps.
Sounds lovely! You can hang it with a rod attached to the back of it - similar to a curtain. You can attach loops to to back, run a rod or dowel through that and hang that rod on the wall. You won’t even see the hangers!

Ir depends on the look you want, if you'd like it to be stiffly hung, you'd need a frame behind it and attach it all the way around the frame with staples. If you would prefer it to be mounted from the top only, then putting a rod through the back (like a curtain) and hang it up with a dowel and brackets.
If it's just a piece of fabric, you may want to fold it over at the top and sew across to make a channel for a curtain rod. I think it would look lovely hanging like that!

Hi Joan, I hope this helps you with hanging your fabric from Ireland. Stay well. Ways to Hang
Install a curtain rod at the top of your wall, then fold the end of a blanket over a dowel rod and stitch it together on the back, or create a rod pocket with scrap fabric and stitch it to the back of your blanket. Nail comforter clips to the wall and clip them to your quilt on all sides.
