vinegar is a great natural solution to getting rid of mold.
Bleach will clean the mold. Vinegar will kill mold spores. Do not mix the two together. The fumes are harmful.
Make sure you run the bath fan during and after you clean to get rid of all of the chemicals used to kill the mold.
The most important thing to do is to make sure you have a ventilation fan that is adequate. It is that moisture that is the basis of the mold and mildew.
The disease is lack of ventilation.
Bleach kills almost all micro organisms. BUT, and this is important, it will not effectively kill the roots of mold in most porous surfaces, such as wood. It will kill both mold and mold spores (roots and all) on hard non porous surfaces such as glazed tile (not natural stone tile, thats a porous surface).
I have used this solution for years and I have NO mold in my bathroom
Heat up 1 cup of white vinegar, mix in about 1/4 cup of Dawn Premium. Not the dollar store kind, because it is too thin. When mixed, pour into a spray bottle and fill with water. Shake. Spray down the grout and let it sit overnight. In the morning rinse. If you have stubborn stains, spray again. Use this mixture a few times a week. It will keep your grout and tiles clean. Also works wonders in the toilet bowl to keep hard water stains at bay. Oh you only have to heat the vinegar one time when you add the Dawn.
Also remember if you have a shower stall, leave the door open so it can dry out after you shower.
I spray bleach over the mold and put paper twels over the bleach to obsorb the mold.

Hi Grace - There are several ways to get rid of mold, but most importantly, you need to address the root cause to keep it from returning. This article focuses on the bathroom, but is an overall great article that covers methods of how to remove mold, if bleach is safe to use, and how to prevent it from coming back. Hope this helps! Hi Grace, have you ever used mold armor products? They work amazing in bathrooms on all the grout and caulk. Check them out. When other products didn't work for me and I was killing myself scrubbing with vinegar.....This was the stuff that worked. It is one of those sprays where you spray leave on, come back after a while and it's gone. Then you use the mold armor blocker. Check it out; products are at Home Depot and lowes

White vinegar is the only thing that will kill the mold spores. Once that is done, you can clean with regular cleaner. You might have to use something to lighten stains. Hydrogen Peroxide or chlorine bleach will work for that.
You gotta use bleach no way around it
