Suggestions for Large and deep Alcove/niche in living room ?
Need help with how to decorate around a tv in this space. It's a deep Alcove next to the fireplace that goes from the floor to the ceiling!
I would position the sectional towards the fireplace
can you send some pictures ?
We have open concept and I define areas by the furniture. I would definitely arrange the sectional so that it is arranged around the fireplace with part of it with it's back to the kitchen. Put a console type table behind that section. Good luck and stay safe!
Cynthia has the right idea. The fireplace is the focal point. Position the tv beside it or above.
I would definitely put it with its back to the kitchen and facing the fireplace. We have a similar space, but my husband put the sectional against the far wall opposite the kitchen in the corner. (Our fireplace is on the wall leading to the kitchen. It could have been where yours is. It makes more sense.)
Thanks so much everyone for a assurance I needed... I'll try and learn how to post pictures... This is a great site.. first time I used it...
Yes, back to the kitchen facing the fireplace or TV.
I agree, put the sectional with its back towards the kitchen. Would help define the space :)
It depends on if you want it to face the kitchen or the tv
can you provide some pictures ?
It will depend on how you use the room and the traffic patterns through it. Try it one way for a few days and if it doesn’t work, move it and try again.
I wish I knew how to post a picture of the room...
