Add Gloss to Stenciled Wall?
I stenciled this wall in my bathroom. (I messed up the pattern a little bit, but....) I’d like to add a little gloss to the wall - the paint I used is too flat for my taste. Is there anything I could paint over my design to add some sheen/gloss?

looks great! You can paint over it with a satin or semigloss polyurethane. Water based wont yellow. :)
I agree with above comment --- exactly my thoughts
Water based semigloss polyurethane should give you the look you want and will protect the surface, too.
If you do choose to use poly on your wall to give it some shine it may be harder to repaint later. You would have to do some serious sanding to remove the poly before you could repaint. I am not sure if just priming over a poly finish would do it for repainting in the future bit I think not. I still believe you would have to sand it first.
Your other choices to repaint in the future over a poly sealant is to use a bonding primer or a deglosser instead of sanding.
I would inquire at a local paint store. They might have a water based glaze or another suggestion that would be easier to paint over in the future if you decide, because I agree, a poly could be tough.
I agree. Water based polyurethane would work. Minwax Polycrylic would be a good choice
Thanks for your comments! I am thinking I might leave the wall as is now. I want to have the option of repainting the wall at a later point. Thanks for all the tips!
Oh you could use a glaze maybe. My favorite is Benjamin Moore glaze. Find it wherever they carry Benjamin Moore. I think Behr has one too. That would work and that is actually for wall paint. Normally it works to mix with wall paint to go over a color and then you rag off for instance. This gives like a faux finish for walls. If you just add the glaze on top of your stenciled wall, it should give a nice shine and shouldn't be hard to paint over. I use glaze also to bring out all the details when I paint furniture. Good luck! I love your stenciled wall!
I'm unsure if you could do a clear gloss sealant but I'm here to say BRAVO!!!! I love this.
It looks beautiful! Don't tell anyone about the mistakes! LOL I would seal it with Minwax Poly waterbased.
