Coffee Stirrer Wall Art
Hi there! I have way too many of these coffee stirrers, and I decided to try and use them in a project. What I ended up making completely exceeded my expectations and look great hanging in our bathroom!
I grabbed some paint- gouache and watercolors both work well for this.
You'll also need bowl or containers for your paint.
Squeeze a nice amount of pigment into a bowl (use a separate bowl for each color). Then add in some water.
You're going to want to create a very saturated watery mixture of paint and water. The more concentrated it is, the more color will show up on the sticks.
This is what each color looked like.
I then placed the sticks into the mixtures and let them sit for 3-4 hours.
This is what they looked like just from mixing the paint! The wood soaks up the pigment really nicely.
Let them sit...
After 3-4 hours take the stirrers out of the paint, and let them dry. It should only take 15 minutes or so. How vibrant are they?!
I then grabbed 2 canvases, and began to haphazardly glue the stirrers on in a random pattern. I used a hot glue gun.
I then added on more layers to cover the whole canvas. I trimmed the tops of the top most layer so there is a flat top.
I love how they turned out! They add such a colorful and fun vibe to our bathroom wall.
I hope you liked this project and give it a try yourself!
