Some dog owners immediately flush the area with water, this helps right after the dog pees. The burns you see in the lawn are similar to fertilizer burn, so diluting them out makes sense.
Another way to avoid any dog pee burn is to take the dog for a walk.

Hello. I have trained my dog ( current and past) to pee in the mulch) over the past 20 years -so I may not be aware if all possible solutions but this product is fairly new, and I have not personally tried it. It may be worth investigating researching reviews and Q+As.

training
We had problems with dog urine devastating the green grassy turf, a sod installed irrigated lawn. When the human leash training and otc urine ph supplement and other recommendations failed-We resorted to a remote training collar to train our dogs over the last 20 years. This collar is exactly the same principle as our existing invisible fence, but you can resort to a tone only button initiation to keep the dog away from an area you’re trying to protect. There are two different zap modes of nick and shock that you initiate and regulate by a intensity dial. Its the same type of collars hunting dogs use.
I do realize these Remote training collars are not for all people but if you using invisible type fence already- it’s likely a great option. My dogs were trained to pee and in mulched area and our grass has been great the last 20years. After training they don't need to wear the collar.

Fix Burnt Grass & Dog Urine Spots With This Easy Solution!
It is a common misconception that "acid" in a dog's urine is what causes the brown spots left behind on our lawns. However, the culprit causing lawn burn is actually the high nitrogen content of the dog's urine. Nitrogen is “the waste” in the urine and is the result of protein breakdown through normal body processes.
The most effective way to prevent dog urine spots (grass scald) is to the water the area immediately after your dog urinates. If you have easy access to a hose or a rain barrel, give the area a quick dousing. I also have a tub in my sink that I use to catch excess water when I’m at the sink; instead of letting it go down the drain, I collect it and use it to water my plants. This idea could be used to water the lawn as well, while remaining mindful of the environment.
The kind of grass you put in your yard also determines how well it will tolerate dog urine.
if you fertilize your lawn, use a reduced nitrogen fertilizer.
Loosen the soil in the bare spot with a rake and remove any debri. Overseed the bare spot and rake in the seed. Then cover with a little soil. Water every other day for about a week when no rain expected. Should see growth in about two weeks. Do not mow the new grass unril well established. Did this to about six bare spots I had.
The only thing to do is trim it out and re seed

Hi Marsha, so sorry to hear that. It's a common problem. Dog urine is rich in nitrogen and ammonia so it acts as a liquid fertilizer in a concentrated amount. You can put a tablespoon of baking soda on the spot and water the area to dilute. I personally don't believe in giving your fur baby supplements to neutralize the nitrogen in their wee. It messes with their own body functions.
Dig it up and replant grass seed.
Water, Water Water.. That's the only way!
