How can I create a stunning headboard from an old door?
I have an old door -- solid and 25+ years old -- that I've like to make into a headboard for my king size bed. It was painted white. I've sanded off the a lot of the paint. But I need suggestions for finishing it.

Are you hoping to paint it or have it natural? Do you have a bed frame already? If so it’s super easy to attach the door. We did something similar here: https://www.frugalfamilytimes.com/2019/10/green-reclaimed-headboard-diy.html
Hi Amy, here's some additional info. You could do all different types of finishes on the wood door to make it fit uniquely into your decor and style.

If you like the look of it being partially sanded (distressed), all you'll need to do it apply a clear sealer.
Chalk paint always looks good.

Hello. Have you considered chalk paint. I favor of the chalk paint results of a particular blogger who takes vintage and secondhand fines and re-purposed with chalk paint.
Please consider popping by this bloggers website for her wonderful furniture rehabs. She details useful repair products, techniques and has a nice result. Many of her furniture items are from the thrift store or furniture pieces donated to her. She also has tips for removing furniture odors and how to treat the interior drawers. She obtains a lot of her hardware from Hobby lobby. Usually you can find a discount coupon for hobby lobby.
As well as including a link below of all of her projects and a gallery fashion. Her chalk paint projects tend to be lighter colors are white that you can get an idea of what kind of finish you can accomplish. If it’s a lucky like to consider.
Best wishes with your headboard design.

I have seen the most outstanding decals lately. You could add one (very large) and create an outstanding piece.
Personally I'd either strip the remaining paint and stain it or leave it kind of half cleaned up looking and attach it to the wall as-is It might lose some of its visual interest if you paint it, in my opinion.
