To paint or not to paint? That is the question.
So, I saw these awesome planters from Joann’s, but they were $30 a piece and out of stock near me. As I was strolling through Walmart, I saw a food container skull that would work as a dupe. Now that I have it... it can’t decide if I should paint it black. What do you think? Leave it or paint it?
So shiny!!!

I like the iridescence but if you want it to be a bit spookier, go with the black. You could also paint orange or white if you want to change the color. If you are really creative, go for a day of the dead look with turquoise or white and add various designs. I'm not that talented but I do love the look.
Paint the inside black.
It depends on your style. To paint or not to paint, it's your choice. - old saying from Shakespeare
I think skulls are rather spooky in any color.
Your Walmart find reminds me of the Indiana Jones movie The Crystal Skull and the Star Gate TV show. Those are not Halloween shows but skill a bit spooky. Maybe get another container and paint one and leave the other original?
Have fun and enjoy whatever you choose to do!
I kind of like Amy's idea. Paint the inside black and let the iridescence shine on the surface. Try it on the bottom of the piece and see what you think.
I think black would be a good choice too maybe in a matte to make it flatter and spookier looking :)
Thanks for the updated photos. Cool.
Nice!
Hi Stacy,
Why not buy several and paint the interiors different colours!
Love the way they are :)
