Paint remover?
I have a solid wood antique headboard that I picked up at an estate sale. Unfortunately, it has been painted with what appears to be flat house paint; layers of it.
What is the best paint remover to use get rid of this awful paint job? Thanks

Citristrip is my go to.

Use Citristrip, cover with plastic and it will remove the paint.
Yes citristrip would be my pick too. Sometimes I skip stripping and just get to sanding. If you do this though, know there will be a ton of dust....so keep your vacuum by your side! You would also have to start with a lower number sandpaper. Work your way up to 220. good luck!
I use Citristrip all the time. It's great stuff!
First scrape away any loose paint. For a first timer I would recommend citristrip as it is safe and easy to use. Make sure you don’t let it dry do work small areas at a time going with the wood grain.
For sure, Citristrip will do a good job on stripping the old paint. Are you planning on staining the wood?
Haven't decided to stain or paint; figured I wait to see what the wood looks like after stripping.
CitriStrip. Slather the CitriStrip onto the piece and apply saran wrap or use large plastic bags to keep the CitriStrip moist. Allow to set for the time mentioned on the instructions then remove the plastic and scrape with a soft spatula. This may need to be repeated.
Thanks to all for the helpful tips on what paint stripper to use on my antique headboard.
I second CitriStrip!
I use 2 Minute something or other and while it’s not two minutes, it does a great job.
