How would you decorate this?
Bought this piece recently for $2.00 at a thrift store. The rounded area measures almost 24 inches in diameter. Not sure whether to paint it a color and then do an arrangement for autumn/fall for inside the house or do something for the Christmas season instead. What would you do with it? Thanks in advance for your creative ideas.

Privacy is important as well as allowing light to come in!
I would leave it the color it already is and add color to it with the arrangement you make. If you attach the arrangement with wire, you can change it for the various seasons.
I don't know if it needs painting at all. Leave natural and fill with seasonal items.
Kinda looks a little like a dream catcher, I would leave it natural, paint would disguise it's natural beauty. You could hang it on the wall for a conversation piece or a table top inspiration. Long shot would be a wreath.
I think the color is beautiful. I would paint a canvas a gorgeous deep colour - like a rusty red - and mount it on there. Simple but gorgeous.
You don't find basketry like that anymore. Originally it might have had some more color differentiated by various shades of browns to rust dyes. I would pick your dyes, spritz the whole basket with water, and use a q-tip to apply to give you good control in applying. I would use cold water dyes myself..... but you could use Rite Dyes using hot water.
For a solid color tint, dip the whole basket in a plastic tub.

I would leave it natural, if it were mine. As suggested above, you can wire decorations onto it for fall then remove to redecorate for Christmas. I have a round basket tray that I hung on the wall "as is" for a few years that I now decorate with temporary arrangements.
I wouldn’t paint it and you could use for multiple seasons and occasions. Use pipe cleaners to temporarily affix decor items to it then swap out.
Hi! Have you thought about hanging it on the wall? You could add seasonal decor or a mirror in the center.
Hello I would use it for a basis or bottom to ground an autumn table top arrangement.
I’d hang it on the wall as is or dress it up depending on your taste and hang it.
I would buy a wreath frame and tie it to the weaving. Then you can easily decorate the frame leaving open areas to show off the weaving. Changing the decorations to seasons or holidays.

As far as attaching 3-dimensional embellishments to the piece, instead of using wire which can catch on, pierce, and weaken the weaving, I would suggest using large blunt ended sewing needles. These are usually sold as tapestry needles, and have large eyes and rounded ends.
Narrow ribbon threaded through the needle would be easy to tie, and untie if you wanted to change the trim for different seasons.
What a beautiful piece! Love it!
I personally wouldn’t paint it but would use it as a mat for a small centerpiece allowing it to show. Perhaps for fall, lay some colored leaves in the center with a pumpkin or a holiday pitcher or (filled) bowl, or even a figurine as a centerpiece. The same for winter or Christmas using either cutouts or bought snowflakes with themed pieces at the center.
It would also be pretty to hang as is. Perhaps a holiday bow for a wreath(y) look by itself or again using leaves and snowflakes around the outer edges to make it more so.
Do one side for Christmas or Thanksgiving and the other side for other holidays like paint the star white and add red an blue paint on certain areas for Labor Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Veterans Day, etc. You can attach ribbons to stream below or wire on a cluster of dried flowers and a bow. Remove them when you flip it over.
i would just leave it the way it is .. just place a pretty bowl on ti
