How to add a something in a empty high space?
Yes, this space is in my breakfast area and I do not know how to add color or something to that space. Yes, my granite is black with silver specks in which I am trying to integrate into as a color pallet.

I have seen interesting ideas to add dome narrow shelves in rooms for storage and display. In the bathroom it was for storage. In the bedroom it was for a snow globe display.I think it adds a lot of interest.
Maybe some art or some shelves with decorative items might help.
It is very hard to guess what the dimensions are for your room.
Please post a picture so it can be seen what space you have to work with.

Hi Diane, since we don't know the dimensions of your brakfast nook, it's difficult to provide really good advice. I'm thinking the space may be small since it's a "nook" so you might want to go with collorful artwork that does not jet out into the room as much as shelveing might. Heres a link with suggestions for artwork, a clock, and even paint. Another idea might be to arrange colorful plates in a random manner to draw the eye upward and enhance the height of the ceiling.

If you are trying to do a wall area, have you considered peel and stick tiles?
Hi Diane,
How about a large canvas or a Wall Sculpture Have fun! Use a tall ladder or Staging to do the job. Best to have someone with you at the time to help and for safety reasons.
Sherwin Williams sea salt paint would be a nice accent color. Then you could choose trim and decor after you have painted the walls.
Maybe a shelf with some colorful decor on it in that space?
Hi Diane, how about running a floating shelf the length of the space, or find a nice modern enclosed shelf with lighting to add that pop of color you are looking for,

Hi Diane. One large item will give drama to any space. Perhaps a piece of art, or, my favorite, a large clock. Take a walk thru your local Good Will, or Habitat for Humanity. Sometimes you can find a treasure for a good price. Good luck Diane. I hope you are well.
If you could post a picture we could give much better answers.
Large serving trays, baskets, and other items that strike your fancy can be mounted up high. Take a clue from family's interests.
We really need a photo to help.
It would be awesome if you could post a picture of the space you are working with so we can see exactly, but a few things you can use to fill up a space: clock, vase, wreath, large baskets, bowls, plants, shelf, painting, piece of art...
What about a shelf with some art work and decor
