They can be used as containers for large amounts of sugar, salt, pepper or small candy dispenser such as for re hots, jelly beans etc., for gifts.

If you are referring to the containers after they are empty, you can replace the cover with contact paper or leave clear. Then use for storing items like mini-canisters. If you have children, put a bit of sand in the bottom and make a bowling set.
Hubby uses them in his coffee and I have used them in hot tea.
