Was wondering what your couch is made of, leather, cloth, plastic, vinyl...it might make a difference in the answer. By sanitizing it does not mean cleaning it which is what needs to happen before sanitizing.
For upholstered furniture:
There are 2 methods I use, the first is steam cleaning, where the water is heated in the steamer up to 240 degrees and then forced into the fabric. If you don't have one, you can rent them at diy stores.
For vinyl or plastic:
Make a solution of half white vinegar and half water. Put that in a sprayer bottle and spray over the sofa from a distance of about 1' away. Let dry
It depends on what your sofa is made of. Also, is it stained? Odors?
Hello. What type of material is your sofa made up? Have you considered a steamer or possibly a Lysol aerosol spray?
I would use OdoBan, which also has an odor eliminator as well as a disinfectant.
Here's some info for you. Hopefully it is helpful.
