Kitchen Pantry
Looking to build food pantry from book case. Would like top moulding added, and bi-fold doors. Also need to add 12" of width. Total size is 48" by 58" so will need to attach to wall for stability.

You can purchase closet doors to add to the bookcase. You will need to add a frame to the front for attaching the doors.
As for attaching to the wall, locate the studs prior to placing the bookcase and use long wood screw to secure. I would do this step first, then add doors, with crown molding as the last step.
If you are going to add width to the existing bookcase, you will need to disassemble. You will need new backing (luan will work well) and new shelving boards. The only pieces you will be able to use are the sides.
Hello. You might get some ideas and tips here. Hope this https://www.hometalk.com/diy/organize/pantry/no-kitchen-pantry-upcycle-an-old-bookshelf-into-this-41744045?expand_all_questions=1
No Kitchen Pantry? Upcycle an Old Bookshelf Into THIS!
Hi Nancy, I would check out your local salvage depot for cabinet doors or regular doors you could modify. If you're willing to tackle it you could consider doing pull out drawers for the bottom two or three shelves and just doors on the top half. Drawers slides are not the most fun to install but I've heard they've gotten easier since I did it!

The crown molding would be the last to do.
Hi Nancy, you can pick up a bookcase and add the the accordion doors to it once you anchor it to the wall. You want to be sure the top of the case has a large enough overhang to mount the doors on.

Hello,
I would start with 2 x bookcases if possible or make up a set of shelves to match the bookcase, but without the backboard. Tie them together by cladding the outside and also the shelves with MDF. Attach a frame around the front of the cupboard and fix your bi-fold doors to the frame. Paint or decorate to desired finish. Enjoy the journey!
