The welds broke from the weight. Best would be to replace if budget allows. You can use zip ties just to repair it.
I think your best bet is to replace it. They’re surprisingly affordable and not hard to install.
Hi Lauren, it will never be as strong as it was, so I would replace it, you can get strong inexpensive rods online, easy to install as well

Another vote for replacing it.
You might consider a thicker rod, the type that sits in cups that get screwed to the wall and a stronger shelf.
There is a "closet kit" from Rubbermaid - configurations. You can get by the closet size. It is flexible with large closet rods and shelving. We used it in all of our closets to gain more versatility. It is flexible and very nice. We had 43 inch wide closets in our 70 + year old home.
We used zip ties, the heavy duty industrial ones, to secure a shelf that had a similar issue. Put the rod back into the slot and then secure in several spots.
I would just replace it they have all you need at Home Depot and other big box stores - repairing this may not be worth it - much easier to replace

Hello. This seems to be a repeat post. Several suggestions can be seen above.

Yes, it’s overloaded. Replace it with traditional steel Rod & Shelf brackets, screwed into the studs.
Looks like you have more clothes than that wire rod can hold. I'd replace it with a wooden rod: https://amzn.to/33guk0s
