Please post a picture of your ceiling so that we can see exactly what you are referring to. There will be a greater chance that another Hometalker will recognize the material and know what its composition is on the underside.
To make a positive identification of what your ceiling is, you'll have to contact a certified asbestos testing lab and they will tell you how to go about this. Some will come to your home and others will ask you for a piece of your ceiling.
You might start this process by contacting a company through Home Advisor, or you could Google "Asbestos testing" and you'll see companies in your area.
Best to you.
Hi Sammie, According to this article, it's almost a certainty that the ceiling in the mobile home contains asbestos.

If they're small, like 12" square and have round holes in them, they're likely asbestos.
Asbestos isn't a problem unless they've gotten wet or something else is making them fall apart or be releasing the fibers.
If you want to remove and replace it, technically that should be done by a pro and that is going to be a lot of money.
You can encapsulate it & that is a possible DIY project, if you want advice on that.
anything from 1960 and back has asbestos more than likely according to info I found.
here is some info to help determine about asbestos

I would say it is more likely than not. I would definitely have it tested before going forward.
More likely not. Those are panel of hard board with vinyl bonded to the hard board.
It may be. I would get it tested for sure
If you're worried about asbestos, I would just the time to do the inexpensive test for peace of mind.
i dont have it anymore to show a picture but my concern was that i had a piece to be tested in an old out building and never got around to testing it and then the outbuilding got burned on my property and the ashes was covered with dirt so im scared now tha tif the ceiling contained asbestos that a piece would be buried in my yard
Thanks for the additional info.
Unless you're going to be gardening on your hands and knees where those ashes are,
Do not worry.
If for some reason, someone is going to rototill that area, then they should wear a mask and goggles.
