What is the best gold spray paint to use on a white metal bed frame?
lve desperately needed a new bed for months. I had fallen in love with one gold metal bed in particular HOWEVER it had been sold out for months with no restock date. So, I decided to buy the same exact bed in white and I hope to paint it to the gold of my dreams. This metal bed is brand new and white. I’ve been so overwhelmed by searching “best gold spray paints” on the internet, and then the whole primers and glossers etc. PLEASE HELP THIS CLUELESS GIRL OUT! I want the gold to not be too gaudy? (If that makes sense), for example I’ve seen some paints that appear almost vibrant yellow gold as opposed to the metallic gold I’m aiming for. Any tips would be so helpful!

I think antique gold would be the best choice. Check the instructions on the can. It will tell you how to prep.
Rustoleum and Krylon are 2 good products for this project. You can choose your color from the can lid. The directions are sand, prime and paint:

Rustoleum 2X spray paint for metal. You would need to scuff up the surface with a green Scotch Brite pad or kitchen scrubby
Hello. I have often taken metallic spray paints and toned them down with either acrylic washes or or some rubnbuff. I would suggest that you consider trying this maybe on a practice item 1st. Rubnbuff comes in multiple patinas I am pretty sure one will meet your needs to tone down the starkness of the spray paint.
rubnbuff
Have a look at the website possible color options, reviews Q&A to to see if it’s a product you might wish to consider.

Here’s an example of one of my projects. I took a silver spray paint and put some black acrylic washes over it along with a rubnbuff to get different luminosities and patina layering. It was a tacky gold thrift store frame to begin with. It did not go with my new home construction satin nickel hardware.
The best idea is for you to buy a couple of different gold spray paints and try them to see which one you like the best.
RustOleum is my favorite metallic paint.
Hello Allison,
Visit a Craft Store or Paint Department or Art shop. There you should be able to find just what you are looking for.
Rustolium has good paint for metal
I used Rustoleum spray paint to redo my daughter's bed, and the only prep it needed was a good cleaning! Do the painting outdoors. Good luck!

This is an important job. I would go to a real paint store in your area and get a recommendation from the pros regarding color and finish, etc. Good luck!!
