How can I decorate my house without hanging flower baskets?
Ever, year I buy beautiful flowering hanging baskets in May and by the end of July they are no longer full, no longer beautiful and barely alive, regardless of how often we water them.
I am looking for an alternative to a hanging basket for the front of my Garage and on my front stoop.
I also have a plant hook on my front porch.
I would rather spend $100-$150 on an arts/craft project that I can re-use the following year, than the same amount on plants that die before the summer ends.
But I would like to avoid silk or artificial flowers.
Love and usually use pinks, purples with occasional accents of a yellow or an orange.
Suggestions, instructions, pictures, anything.
Thanks!! Anna Lydia

Hi there,
Buy Artificial flower baskets, then you won't have to worry about looking after them, but would need somewhere to store over winter.
How about some pretty lanterns? You could paint them in the colors you like and hang them at different heights.
Hello. The metal lanterns with the automatic timer candles might be something to consider.
I agree the silk plants seem to fade very quickly. My annuals in my pots need pretty significant attention with frequent watering and clipping and I also use soil moist To try to extend the frequent waterings. Hope you find the perfect solution.
Have you ever considered making some wine bottle crafts? I love doing DIYs with wine bottles as they make amazing flower vases and even make great hanging planters. You can paint them in your choice of colors to create the perfect ambiance.

I have the same issue so I purchased a variety of wind spinners and hang on my porch. I also have a couple of wind chimes (that don't make sound) and there are a variety of other things you can use. One of mine is a very large red heart, another has a ball that is similar to a gazing ball, a butterfly, at one time I had a grapevine wreath.
you could make wind chimes, you can make hanging projects using silverware, etc (info below) it just depends on the look you are going for
