I am in the same dilemma. First get a large multi color booklet of colored craft paper. Pick one color at a time and tape up several sheet around the kitchen and live with it a day or two. Then go to another color. When you find a color or two that you like go down to the local store and get a couple of samples in two of three similar shades and make test papers, hang them up. This method sounds time consuming but this way you see the colors at all times of day and night, with your existing lighting and a lot cheaper then re-painting. Everyone has opinions on color etc, but you are the only one that has to live with the final outcome. If you want all white, cover the kitchen in butcher paper and see if you like it. (personally I don't, maybe because I have working in hospitals for over 35 years.)
