Would the Hometalk community be interested in a Podcast

The Hometalk website is a fantastic place to get inspired. Would you as the community be interested in a Podcast about similar topics?
A Podcast would allow you to catch up on home remodeling while gardening, cleaning, driving, or taking it easy.
If you would like this let me know
1) what topics you'd like
2) who you'd like to be interviewed (e.g. people from the community who've done projects, contractors with tips, etc.)
3) the length (e.g 10 or 20 or 30 min)
Thanks everyone.
Jeff

Thanks KMS. You would be a great person to interview! What's your preference in terms of the length, 10 min to 20 min or longer?

I like the idea of podcasts here. There are some savvy folks who have shared some Youtubes that have been helpful. SawHorse has been a great teacher and even sponsored a 'how to' event for us. I am not sure anything longer than 15 minutes will do well here though.

Thanks Four Season for the encouragement and for your opinion on the length. I was thinking 15 minutes max for tutorial type Podcasts and maybe 20-25 minutes for interviews. I'd love to speak with contractors, community members who have posted ideas, and bloggers. The whole point is for everyone to learn and to be able to do anywhere at anytime. :)

That sounds like a great idea!!!! Why not! What's the worse that can happen. Im new to modern technology with digital cameras and i phones, etc....I know Podcasts are video interviews, that I do know, is it done through skype or another source? I think video interviews are only one more additional realm of people not only reading but seeing now visually seeing something as opposed to a photograph!

I'm a big podcast listener. I listen to lots of podcasts (mostly geeky NPR-type stuff) while cooking, gardening, etc. I also spent many hours of midnight feeding and rocking listening to podcasts. I would be interested in adding a home improvement podcast to my lineup, and haven't found any good ones. I would be especially interested in interviews with specialty expert contractors - maybe about 20 minutes long.

I agree with the 20 min length...a full half hour may be tough for some to return for future ones...10 min seems too short to get any infor across.
  • I think it would be cool also. 5 min with 20 min of commercials. lol I agree also about the length. To short not enough is provided. To long, lots of zzzzzs will occur. Wife and I DVD'd a one hour movie the other day. We started watching it and of course blew through the commercials. We were done with the movie in 35 min. The rest was the commercials. Sure glad I pay to watch on cable. So I can pay to watch commercials. In any case. Could be something good.

Thanks everyone for the great feedback. I would like the Podcast to be driven by what people want. So when I get the fortitude to move forward I will definitely ask for input. :)
