I purchased over 100 of these tin tiles from the ABC catalog. I was going to cover the backsplash of the kitchen wall above counter tops and behind the stove. I changed my mind...now wondering what I can do with them. One lady on Hometalk covered her dishwasher, but I don't want to do that.
aside from a back splash or ceiling, I can't think of anything clever. Perhaps on an island? Or you could cover an old table top, perhaps under glass. A half wall somewhere, or a mud room? The laundry area? What about a bathroom or half bath?
Why did you change your mind? My concern would be if you decided you didn't like them why would you want to use them somewhere else? I know you spent money on them-maybe sell, donate or barter?
Ceilings, cabinet panel fronts, walls or cabinet interiors at fireplace wood storage, decorative wall art (use as background) table top with glass over....anywhere you want the texture : )
I was pretty much going to say what Moxie said above, so let me just add this: try painting/distressing some of them to look aged. It would give your projects a whole new level of interest.
I actually bought one of these to use as part of an old window I am re-purposing. It is a four-paned window. I took all the glass out, painted and distresssed it. I will put a cork board in one pane, a chalkboard in another, some chicken wire in the third one (which I will use to hang notes with little clothespins) and the fourth window will be the metal sheet. I am going to distress it to look old, and it will serve as a magnetic board. This will be a message center in my kitchen.
Do you want to use them? If not, sell them on a classifieds site or other private venue. My husband often reminds me "Just cuz you have it, doesn't mean you have to use it." ;-)
Why not try covering a table top or do a square or rectangle centered on your kitchen ceiling or cover a an old trunk or frame 4, 6 or 9 in a beautiful frame ? I hope that helps you, i wish i had 100 or so, to have to figure out a project for myself, lol. Sounds like you will be having fun in no time. Be sure and post pictures of your project so we can all see what you decided on doing.
Yes but they are small tin squares and they were expensive, but Lowes sells sheets that look like tin that are easier to work with......check them out first.

@WindingCreekCreations My first thought was the front of a kitchen island.

Sell them on eBay. Will your seller not take them back?
@Louise Thanks for the idea, but I want to keep them til I find a good use for them.
Good ideas but if anyone else has used these for anything but a backsplash, please post a pic

If you have enough, why not make a "tin" ceiling.

It would look great on the kitchen ceiling or as an accent wall. Good luck!
I just saw that someone painted the tiles in pretty colors, then framed them for a head board in a guest bedroom.
@Joni goularte is that on this site? I would like to see that......thanks.
Like the idea of using them on the ceiling.
would you consider selling them? I would like them as a back splash.
