How can I make a trunk out of an igloo cooler? Help please!

I have in mind to create a trunk from a 1' x 1' x 5' igloo cooler. I want to use it for storage and/or a window seat. The hinges are broken so the top is completely removable. The top is white, the base or well is gray/silver and the letters "igloo" are black. Any ideas how to carry out this idea? I had purchased brown fabric to match my wood bedroom furniture, but how to attach it?
