How can I protect the toilet paper rolls from pets?

Same problem with a cat. Tried each of these and eventually she

lost interest. Different holders may require different solutions. We tried to just close the door but she wanted to play bed enough that she would sit outside the door and go meow, meow, meow, meow,meeooow, for 15 minutes. It was only when we used the other tricks to make her lose interest on her own.

1 Reverse the roll so it doesn’t unroll when they paw at it.

2. Put a rubber band around it

3. Fold an old toilet paper to put behind it and jam it in place

4. Put a scent on the wall they don’t like. Y wife had an organic scent which she didn’t mind in try bathroom. The cat didn’t like it so play time was

5 Bloodhounds are obviously sensitive to smells. Try lemon, pepper, ammonia (just a drop], bleach, or anything they don’t like

I would keep the door shut to them or put up a child's gate if the door is not a solution for you. (We have to keep our door open when not in use due to heating and pipes freezing etc in cold weather).

Just close the bathroom door.

A rubber band may work as long as the dogs don't try to chew it off. I like the gate idea though it gets bothersome having to step over it. You can purchase a gate with a latched door in it. Costs a bit more but may be worth it. You can find them in the baby section of any local WalMart.

Keep the doors closed!!

My son’s room was always a mess and I straightened it every single day! Finally I found the perfect solution suggested by a psychologist friend. Just close the door so the mess was no longer visible and it now becomes his responsibility. Unfortunately your dogs are not kids so it is up to you to either train them (not likely) or make it possible at least to break the habit themselves. Keep the door closed and they may find some other fun thing to do instead of destroying something. All of my dogs were trash pickers no matter where the trash cans were. Still a pup he is being trained with a stern “no” when he is caught stealing trash. If it is too late for that, close the doors!!!!

Try making a cardboard box that would fit over it with a flap on the top. Then attach it with velcro or command strips to hold it in place. That way all you need to do is lift the box to get the paper. If you put a flap on 2 sides that would help keep the dogs out of it. You can even paint the box or put contact paper on it to make it look nicer. Or even put a sign on it saying "bloodhounds keep out". Then your guests would know why the paper is hidden.
