what are the tiles made of???f
If your creative paint scenes, or design on some of the tile. I used craft paint which is acrylic. Then I sealed it with spray on exterior varnish. I chose an upper level of tile so it wouldn't get to much water marks and doesn't need to get scrubbed on a regular basis. Reseal it about every 6 months, been that way for 5 years. No problems so far.
Ack, didn't see the cracked tiles. Ok there is a tool that looks and works like a glas cutter but it removes the grout. use that around broken or cracked tiles. Then carefully break out the tile. Replace tile with whatever color, you wish. repeat, until it is a design.
You can get decals that are so pretty to put on the cracked ones.
If you do not mind covering the tiles, you could fill in the grout to make everything level and cover the tiles with smooth flat river rocks. You could use darker gray to light to even brown or tan. They come in many colors and can be glued then sealed on top. It takes 48 hrs between each step so you would have to allow the time of about a week or so to really do it right.
