You really SHOULD NOT tile over an existing tile floor.... take the time to remove it... lay down cement board or "uncoupling membrane" and do the job correctly.

Hi Lisa, We tiled over tile in our main bathroom last year. We used peel-and-stick tiles. It looks great. So far not problems at all. Just be sure the original tile is squeaky clean before you start. Best wishes.

Yup, you can tile over tile, but it raises it up and you will have a toe catch at the threshold because it's so high. Remove the old tile.

i’m assuming your asking if you can tile over your existing tile? If that’s your question, yes you can long as your existing tile isn’t loose or broken up you can lay new tile or linoleum over the top! You’ll want to make sure your existing tile is good and clean and has no greasy spots on it! If your existing floor is textured you can lay a leveling compound down on top of your existing flooring and let dry and sand smooth. Vacuu excess dust and/or wipe down with a damp rag and let dry. Then you can glue your new flooring over the top of the existing flooring! If your thinking of using those preglued sticky square tiles, I would recommend using flooring glue to glue them in place and they will stay glued to the floor much better in the long run. Those sticky glue tile often don’t stay glued down and you will be reglueing tile from time to time when one pops off! Hope that answers your question?
