Antique Vanity Desk W/Mirror in White Milk Paint and Appliqués

2 Materials
This antique vanity was suffocating under a dark dreary awful finish. It had zero pep and the beautiful detail of its structure was indistinguishable. A fresh coat of Snow White milk paint by Old Fashioned Milk Paint and it was already sparkling the way it was meant to.
I ordered some appliqués to adhere to the front drawers since they were a bit plain looking. The original hardware had long since been lost so I ordered new glass rose bud knobs and beautiful brass pulls from D. Lawless Hardware. They have a fantastic selection of furniture and craft 'jewelry,' and their customer service is outstanding.
I aligned them in the pattern I wanted and then painted them before wood gluing them to the drawer fronts. I did three layers of paint and alternated with swiping stain on them to mimic the dark stain peeking through the shading and distressing of the white paint on the desk.
I also painted the brass pulls the same Snow White milk paint. The top drawers had an original appliqué so I highly distressed the entire piece which drew out the detail of the craftsmanship.
I sanded and stained the top then coated it in polyurethane. The mirror was also painted in the Snow White and distressed.
The body and mirror are protected with clear wax.
