Bassinet Renovation

This is the first bassinet I covered, and it was a table top model.
What ever bassinet you get make sure to first clean and paint first.
Bassinets with legs are great for storing diapers and supplies under for a clutter free look.
Because you are using fabric you can use any style, theme or colors you choose. I measured the top outside and inside rims of the bassinet. Then I quadrupled the amount of fabric to allow for the gathering.
I gathered, sewed and hemmed the fabric. I got Velcro and attached it to the inside and outside rim with a hot glue gun. The Velcro makes for easy removal for washing. For the inside fabric I made a hem the bottom edge of the fabric and threaded elastic to fit the bottom and put the mattress over the bottom.

You can add any decorative ribbon or edge and add a matching blanket and stuffed animal.

Thank you Cori. The most fun is choosing fabrics. Let your imagination take over. In the nursery I'm making coordinating curtains. Because they rent and can't paint I'm thinking of using a large drop cloth and make a jungle mural with monkeys and maybe some other jungle animals. Not sure still in the planning stages.
