Do you have to make it? Because the truly cheapest way to get a lot of seating is to buy it off your local buy and sell like marketplace or Craigslist. It’s cheaper than the materials to make seating! Especially if you want it to have cushions - foam and fabric can be $$&

Making your own wood patio furniture is not cheap, especially with the high increases in prices recently. I'd suggest buying used basic pieces that can be found at garage sales and online, especially when people are moving. You could put together a pretty patio quickly and at a small amount compared to buying lumber, purchasing tools (if you don't have them), etc. Plus the time involved. As Ann indicated in her post, pallet wood could be used if you absolutely are set on building your own. Good luck!
Hello. Alternatively—Have you considered looking for a secondhand on Facebook marketplace or craigslist. There are even Freecycle options where people are giving away furniture.
We updated the secondhand patio set left by the previous homeowners with Rustoleum spray paint and it was superior quality and looked better than that is now being sold a big box improvement stores. Sometimes the secondhand quality is better than what you can buy or cost effectively build now. Something to consider.

Refurbishing an old set it going to be the most economical. Lumber is expensive right now and we've turned many old patio items into comfortable pieces with spray paint and new slings.
Hi Simone: I'd check estate sales, garage sales, yard sales, etc. Sometimes even thrift stores have them. That would be your cheapest and easiest way.
Good luck
you could use wood pallets and most of the time you can get them for free or very cheap

Unless you already have all the requisite tools and finishing materials to make your own patio furniture, then purchasing secondhand is most likely going to be more cost effective.
Often previously owned patio furniture only needs a little spray paint or new cushion covers to make it looked refreshed and like-new again.
Old tires can be made into seats or ottomans.

Sites like Craigslist have a free section and there’s also Freecycle or check Facebook for a local Buy Nothing group. Your local thrift store may have something too. Building is not the lowest cost way to go; in fact it’s usually more expensive than buying.
You could use cinder blocks and stack them and add wood slats so you have a bench put the wood through the holes
