We are planning on taking the top of our entertainment center off to make room for a bigger TV. We would like ideas for adding something on top for our DVD player and DVD RECORDER and other things. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks

Lots of folks just add a large shelf the length of the large TV beneath it on a french cleat. Ikea makes one 43" or 72" https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/lack-wall-shelf-black-brown-40103633/
I agree with Sharon, a shelf will hold your DVD player - or would it fit in the bottom part of your entertainment center?

Number 2 has it as a tv stand.
You can do a shelf sitter on the top of your tv. They are inexpensive to purchase. I bought one but haven't put it up yet because I need a longer cord or move the outlet.
Another option is to add floating shelves. There are several projects on how to build them in a multitude of styles.

I totally agree with having a shelf to hold your dvd player.
do you have a shelf below where the tv will sit that you can place your DVR etc? looks like taking the top of the one you have now then adding something to hold the other items would mean building a shelf over the top
