Build Porch Cover on the Weekend
If the patio cover would be attached to the house itself, make sure there are no electric lines the patio cover would go through. You cannot build around electric lines, i.e. leave a hole for them. Hello
Are you looking for a shelter or just shade from sun exposure?
I have the sameheavy sun exposure problem, regret not making the screen porch larger. The sun is much too intense and hot.
My neighbor put up the sail -carabiner shades, they are very effective and attactive, withstood stormy weather, but Im nort sure about winter and snow, if they will be removed or not.
A pergola woukd be more substantial and structural but not as budget friendly.
