I wash mine on delicate and warm water, using Oxyclean.
Then in the rinse cycle, add white vinegar.
You can use Clorox 2, which contains no chlorine, or Oxi clean.
Thoroughly drying your shower/tub after use via good exhaust fan (during showers and for a minimum of 20 minutes after ) and wiping surfaces, using towels dried with wool felted dryer balls (rather than fabric softener) better absorb water.
Hello, I put mine in the washing machine, often it is not necessary to dry them in the dryer.
Plain old white vinegar. Soak over night then run through the wash with vinegar in the wash and in the rinse cup. No fabric softener.
I vote for the washing machine method too. I usually add a few older towels to the load. They act as "scrubbers." I don't use the dryer but if you do, be sure to use a no-heat cycle.
There are several ways to get rid of mold, but most importantly, you need to address the root cause to keep it from returning. This article focuses on the bathroom, but is an overall great article that covers methods of how to remove mold, if bleach is safe to use, and how to prevent it from coming back. Hope this helps! Oxi clean is very good for removing mold/mildew. If just washing in machine doesn't work then soak it in Oxiclean and hot water. Directions are on the container.
Vinegar!
Vinegar.
I throw mine in the washer, cold water, gentle cycle with a few towels. Don't put the shower curtain in the dryer.
I was our plastic (and fabric) in the washing machine. I use 1/2 scoop of oxiclean in warm water on gentle cycle and hang back up to dry.
Concentrated vinegar 40 percent or higher.
It goes into the washer with the towels/wash cloths, add vinegar, that will kill the mold. Then hang tho dry when done cycling.
I use vinegar. It works wonders.
Make a paste of either equal parts baking soda and water and scrub the mold from the shower curtain. Rinse and repeat if necessary. Flip the shower curtain and repeat. Hang the shower curtain from a clothesline to dry.
Hi Merrill, hope this helps you. Try mixing a 50 50 mix of white vinegar and water, put them in a spray bottle and spray on the moldy parts. Rinse well.
