My stain remedy is spray the area with Shout then rub in Oxiclean, let set for about 1/2 hour, then wipe off with wet rag until clean. Try this on an area not seen first to test for color fastness, but we inherited a Chinese Art Deco rug from the 1920's and sent it out to be cleaned, came back with the same stain, and I tried this and it worked. I use it in the laundry all the time: wine, clay dirt from working in the garden, red sauce - it gets everything out. You may have to try it a couple times depending on how long the stain has set. Good luck!
