I got some ink out of a jacket several years ago with "Hairspray".....All that you need to do is spray it liberally over the ink and then rub it lightly and wash as usual..........

The alcohol in hair spray is what removes permanent marker. Work outside to in, you don't want to spread it. When my darling 3 yo grand daughter "maked a picture for me"on my tan microfiber couch in bright red sharpie, I reached for the 91% rubbing alcohol and a package of cotton make up squares. Dampen cotton square, press on alcohol, toss. Repeat, repeat, repeat! Keep dabbing until no color is absorbed by the make up pad. I'm sure you don't have as much marker on your jeans as I did in my couch (I used a full package of squares) A paper towel cut into 1"x2" pieces will work in a pinch, will take a bit more time. I follow up with good ole blue windex (with ammonia) sprayed on a white terry cloth & rubbed only in the direction of the nap. Good luck on your jeans!!

Many years (read decades LOL) I sat on a red magic marker in a pair of white denim jeans (marker was broken mid plastic, so a "none to bright" fellow decided the chair was easier to reach than a trash bin. Nothing would remove the stain, so my girlfriends and I sat one afternoon and made more "blotches" all over my jeans. Soaked them in a bowl of rubbing alcohol to allow the ink to bleed well. And I wore my "tie-dye" jeans the rest of the year.

Rubbing alcohol and a white rag, WORK quickly because it may spread. Hairspray with rubbing alcohol should work as well. This also works on carpet.

I have bought special laundry pens that are supposed to remove permanent marker stains. A lot of money for some liquid detergent. Just as @CarolynTucker said, about the best thing to use is hair spray. The aerosol can seems to work best, although I usually only have pump spray in the house. I think it is the alcohol that suspends the ink so you can rub it out of jeans, then launder. Best wishes 😇
