    Hi Diann,

It depends on what kind of stains you have. In general, I use a mix of equal parts of vinegar & water with a few drops of Dawn. I put it in a spray bottle, spray it on, let it sit then scrub the spots. Usually that's all it takes. If a stain remains, I've let that completely dry, the sprayed with a mix of hydrogen peroxide and water. Do not mix hydrogen peroxide with vinegar. Also be aware that hydrogen peroxide is like a bleach so color test it before using on your carpet. Last step for me is to shampoo the entire carpet so that it is fresh and clean. Wishing you the best.

Hello! I like the Oxi products and or using a professional carpet steamer. Some stains cannot be removed. Once I put a decorativve wool carpet over an off white wall to walland the dye transfer could not be removed .....even by professionals

Use 1/4 cup of white vinegar, 1 tbsp. of Dawn dish soap, and fill with water. Spray area liberally and let soak for 5-10 minutes and then proceed with blotting with a clean, dry towel until stain is removed. Some carpet stain removal products can be of great benefit for combating many types of carpet stains.
