Bathtub has a few patches of rust on bottom

The porcelain on my tub has been rubbed off and is starting to rust just where you usually stand. Don't want to replace or refinish the entire tub. How can I repair the small area?

You can buy a tub and tile refinishing kit at Lowes, Home Depot, and Menards.

I'm not sure spot repairs would be effective with the exposure to water. I'd be tempted to have the entire bath tub re-glazed to prevent chipping.

I think you are right. Just buying a kit would be a temporary fix. I just had my tub reglazed...comes with a warranty. cost 300.00

I bought the bath tub reglazing kit at Menards because the same thing was happening to me. The paint brush strokes showed and it is now peeling. Didn't work for me.

I have used the kit several times for clients. If proper prep is done before applying the finish it will look like new. One secret is to make sure you tape off the upper part of the tub so you have a very even line around the area you want to finish, usually the bottom of the tub. If you follow the directions on the package you should have flawless results.
