Air and microfiber are your best friends. Using a blow dryer to "dust" and loosen particles is a great option for rough surfaces like brick. Then you can wipe down with a slightly damp microfiber cloth or even buy a mop that you only use for the brick.
Some brick has a finish that makes it easy to spray and clean off, painted brick is usually easier to clean, too. If not, you can blow away the dust and mess before you try one of the cleaning methods- I use vinegar and water and scrub brush. Cloth tends to get stuck in the brick fibers.
