I tried soaking in bleach water over night. That didn’t work. I’m not sure if it’s a lime build up. it is difficult to get tools in cruet to clean. Suggestions for that?

Gather together: vinegar, ammonia, dish soap, and a denture-cleaning tablet.

Fill the empty cruet with vinegar or ammonia, and let it sit at least 30 minutes or overnight

For tougher stains, follow that up with lukewarm water and add a denture-cleaning tablet and allow it to sit for 30 minutes or overnight and rinse.

For tougher stains use lime cleaner (Lime Away) according to the package instructions to remove tough mineral buildup. Follow instructions for cleaning after using.

Rinse out cruet with hot water, and add 2 or 3 drops of mild dish detergent then rinse.

You can add it to the dishwasher for a final cleaning.

orThis method is highly effective as the crushed ice will easily agitate the inside of the decanter and scrub the stains away. Once the ice has melted, it will simply pour away - no mess, no fuss! The hardest part is getting hold of crushed ice.

First rinse the decanter with clean warm water to remove any liquid and soften any stains.

Top up the Decanter with warm water and leave to steep, this will loosen any marks.

Place a handful of crushed ice into the decanter accompanied with half a cup of water.

Swirl the solution round slowly in a circular motion and repeat until the stains start lifting.

To ensure no solution is left in the decanter rinse with warm water until clean.

Try a small amount of CLR overnight to see if it will lift.

I wish you luck. I've tried all the methods above to no avail. The one that got it the cleanest was pouring CLR. In bottle and I let it soak for several days. Swirling it around occasionally. Then washing it in dish washer.
