How do I sharpen and remove rust from scissors and tweezers?

I have a few scissors and tweezers that were kept in an interior bathroom and they have rust spots from the shower steam and need to be sharpened. How do I remove rust from these metal tools?

Maybe some super fine grit sandpaper!?
Steel wool might remove the rust and then you need to clean them and then you need to put a thing coating of oil on them to keep them from rusting again.
As for sharpening, I think it depends on what they are made of. Some of the older pairs you can sharpen with a knife sharpener but some of the newer ones are made of some kind of steel that doesn't sharpen as easily. You can try to sharpen with a knife sharpener and see if it helps.
Try WD 40 to remove the rust.
